Located on an ancient Roman road, this 12th-century Cluniac site was built on the site of an even older church.
Long called Notre Dame des Eglises, the Priory finally took the name of Saint Balise in 1637.
Description
St Blaise Priory, although in ruins, bears witness to a rich historical past.
The current Priory was built on the ruins of a Carolingian chapel, itself founded on the remains of a Roman edifice.
Until 1791, it served as a parish church, but was gradually abandoned and fell into disrepair.
You'll find numerous stain marks on its pillars.
