The Valaurie washhouse dates back to 1855. In 1892, it was covered with a four-sloped roof supported by 8 pillars, for the comfort of the washerwomen.
In 1997, the roof was refurbished with the addition of festoons, serrated borders and embroidery, thanks to local residents.
