Small 12th-century Romanesque chapel, lost in the countryside but rich in architecture and history. Beautifully painted frescoes inside. Outside, numerous symbols engraved in the stones and remains of "sarcophagi".
Description
Built in the 12th century on a cult site occupied since antiquity, the "Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens" chapel has a homogeneous Romanesque character.
The admirable frescoes, rediscovered around 1990, date back to the 14th century.
The theme is the Last Judgement, depicted on the cul-de-four and on the vault of the choir bay. On the apse cornice, the apostles, and on the choir bay cornices, the Adoration of the Magi, the Resurrection of Christ and Daniel in the lion's den.
