Chantemerle was built on a hillside, which was a prehistoric site. A beautiful town with charming landscapes, tree-shaded paths and a chapel dated from the XIV century : Our Lady of Graces.
Description
The Chantemerle site was already inhabited in Neolithic times (fragments of carved flint and polished stones discovered on the Rouvergue plateau overlooking the village).
On the same plateau, numerous bories can still be found, some of which are in perfect condition. According to some, they date back to the Neolithic period. Others believe they were built in the 19th or even 20th century.

The remains, in the cemetery, of the choir and square pillars, of a Chapelle Saint-Maurice, mentioned in 910.
The 18th-century Église Saint-Maurice, built on the site of the former chapelle castrale.
