Religious heritage at the convent of Montjoyer. A monastery founded by the order of Citeau monks in 1137 and situated in a remote valley, surrounded by wooded hills, in accordance with St Benedict's rule advocating silence and quiet contemplation.
Description
The water from several streams conspired to produce the name of Aqua Bella. Expropriated by the revolution, the monks returned to the abbey in 1816.
